Difficult to say how valuable it is. Sorry, but there is no way to answer this question without seeing the actual instrument. There are so many things that go into the value of an instrument. I had one in mint condition; sold it as a trade in for $500 to a dealer. But the above writer is correct.
I bought it new, rarely used it and repadded it brfore I sold it. The condition of a 45 year old horn with a lot of use, cracks etc. Could knock the price way down. I see on eBay Buffets from the forties going for $150. To 250.sampark2.

The name of the manufacturer of this instrument is found on a label located near the top of the body as follows, “Bundy * Resonite By Selmer, R, Elkhart, Indiana.” This Alto Clarinet bears the Serial Number 2754 found at the base of the body along with a US Patent Number 2,775,915 found at the top of the body. The Patent date refers to the key mechanism found on this instrument. The US Patent was granted to Devoe C. De Ford and assigned to H&A Selmer, Inc., Elkhart, Indiana on January 1, 1957. Based on the relatively low serial number and the noted Patent date, I would guess that this instrument dates from circa 1960. Note: A copy of the US Patent will be included with the instrument.
In general, this instrument appears to be in very good cosmetic condition (please see accompanying images for confirmation). As I am not an expert on wind instruments (I am a drummer that cannot read music), I cannot provide a lot of detail on its mechanical or musical condition. However, I did use my expertise borrowed from restoring antique microscopes to clean the instrument of dust and grime with Windex and to give it a coating of Renaissance Micro-Chystalline Wax Polish from the Gemmary to protect it. So, after this relatively gentle treatment, it really looks good (see images). The instrument has some typical minor scratches from use.
The keys seem to work fine and are quite responsive. The underside of the bell has a quarter size shallow dent most likely from the fact that the instrument did not come with a floor peg.
Selmer is the brand that manufactures Bundy clarinets, so the logo could also be a Selmer logo. The serial number can be used to tell what year the clarinet was manufactured. See Resources for a link to the Bundy serial number list. Selmer Bundy 577 Resonite Clarinet. Listing ID: 9076967; Item #: 5057 fl bundy fl. This auction is unavailable. 577 Resonite Clarinet. I did note that the instrument comes with appropriate leather pads, corks and felts. However, due to its age, I would venture to say that it would really benefit from a replacement of these components where they are missing or not in good condition. A good tuneup will likely also be necessary.
